MOABI

ZEBRANO
The heartwood is alight golden-yellow with narrow veining or streaks of dark brown to almost black,giving the quartered surfaces a zebra-stripe appearance.The grain is interlocked or wavy.Zebrano has a coarse texture and a lustrous surface.Polish finishes well.
AFROMOSIA

OFRAM

BUBINGA
The wood is medium red-brown with lighter red to purple veining.The grain is straight or interlocked.In some logs the grain is very irregular and these are converted by peeling into rotary cut veneers called kevasingo.The texture is moderately coarse but even.Polishes to an excellent finish.
TEAK WOOD
The true teak of Burma is a uniform golden-brown colour without markings,but most other teak is rich brown with darker chocolate-brown markings.Indian teak is wavy grained and mottled,but generally straight to wavy grained,coarse textured,uneven,oily to touch,and sometimes with a white glistening deposit.Stains well and takes a satisfactory finish.
BENIN WALNUT

The heartwood darkens upon exposure to deep orange-brown.The straight to interlocked grain produces a "rope"figure when radially cut.The texture is medium fine.(finer than teak without its oiliness)It will take excellent finish.

OLIVE ASH

WENGE

ROSEWOOD INDIAN
From rose to dark purple-brown with darker purple-black lines terminating the groth zones.The grain is narrowly interlocked producing a ribbon grain figure;the texture uniform and moderately coarse,and the surface dull but with a fragrant scent.Polishes to an excellent finish.

FIGURED SYCAMORE
Sycamore is to be found all over Europe but very seldom as figured sycamore which occurs most frequently in England.The wood fibers are wavy which gives this species of wood its typical pattern.Machining is difficult,mainly because of the figure.Figured Sycamore is excellently suited for polishing & staining.
Larch
Dark brown to darkred-brown colour.Larch is very easy to work with all hand? and machine tools.The resin content? must be considered and washed out with wood soap when treating surfaces.Otherwise Larch is suitable for all finishes.
American Black Cherry
The colour of heartwood is orange-reddish to reddish-brown with a satin finish.Very good sliced veneer for faces.Cherry is a wood that can be treated very well by all methods Quick darkening is prevented by using light protective varnishes.
Laurel walnut
Grey wood with black lines.The most sought form has distinct figuring.Laurel can be worked well and cleanly with all tools.Planed surfaces have a silky luster finish.Laurel is extremely difficult to obtain because it can only be exported from India as Veneer.
Loro Negro
Trees with usable log length of more than 5 M amd 30 CM in diameter are extremly rare.Loro Negro is the heaviest wood in the group comprising more than 250 different species.Sap wood is white yellowish,the heartwood dark brown with irregular deep black zones.Very decorative when used together with the light sapwood.The wood can be polished well to produce a good finish.
Olive Ash Burl
Extremely decorative through the alternating light and dark colouring.Due to the wild texture of the wood,the veneer pattern frequently has interesting light and dark colour compositions.Ash is suitable for all kinds of surface treatmet.
Mahogany Crotch
Differentiation must be made between the swirly part of the crotch and the actual crotch? zone in which the full curl,the so-called"feather",should be as straight as possible and show on the wood in one continous line.Lengths over 2 m are extremely rare.If finish well.
Walnut Piuma
Lengths over 1 m very seldom,often open in the crotch.The wood is easy to work with all hand and machine tools.The direction of growth must be observed to prevent fiber pick-up.The very smooth wood takes all stains well.The wood polishes well when fillers are used.
AM.RED ELM
The colour is light grey-brown to silver-brown.The wood produces a strong fnchel odor and as a result is not subject to insect attack.Very smooth surfaces are produces.
DIBETU
Dibetu is dominantly imported from tropical Africa.The wood is not cultured.Colour and texture light to dark brown.Partly dark grained;smooth surface.Polishes well.
BERLINIA
Heart wood brown;pinkish brown to deep red brown;with dark purple or brown streaking;Sapwood rather wide,whitish;often with a pink tint;clearly demarcated.Texture medium to coarse;grain straight interlocked,or irregular,without characteristic odor or taste when dry.
